Francis Ford Coppola re-collaborated with many of the crew members of the first film and again achieves a quite superb period piece thanks to the cinematography of Gordon Willis and set design of Dean Tavoularis. An outstanding piece of movie memorabilia. The film series is a phenomenon, an exquisite Mafia epic with outstanding performances, Coppola got everything right, creating a cinematic event with an immeasurable influence on everyday culture and life. This example displays to excellent effect and is presented in original unrestored rolled condition. Because of the small number of cinemas screening the movie this is a very hard to find poster. Beautiful looking and well designed with simple black and white main imagery featuring a thoughtful Al Pacino in a key scene from the movie as he plots his rise to power in the ‘Family’ study. Th example offered here is from a limited British re-release in 1996. The film shows us the early years of Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) played flawlessly by Academy Award Winner Robert De Niro, and how he created his empire of money, gambling and respect. The second part of Francis Ford Coppola’s Epic and violent Gangster Trilogy “The Godfather: Part II”, follows the reign of ‘new’ Don, Michael Corleone as the head of the Corleone family.
